Double Leg Hop to Jump
Instructions
Stand with your feet about hip-width apart.
Start with a small double-leg hop on both feet.
Land softly on both feet.
After the hop, perform a bigger jump upward.
Land softly on both feet with your knees slightly bent.
Repeat in the same pattern.
Common Compensations
Do not land stiff-legged.
Do not let your knees cave inward.
Do not let the small hops become too big or sloppy.
Do not lose control on the final jump landing.
Do not hold your breath.
Extra Info
You should feel your calves, quads, glutes, and core working.
You should feel quick, light hops followed by a stronger upward jump.
You should not feel sharp pain in the knees, ankles, hips, or back.
