Double Leg Sauté
Instructions
Stand tall with your feet about hip-width apart.
Push through both feet to jump straight up.
Point through the feet as you leave the floor.
Keep the jump quick and controlled.
Land softly on both feet.
As you land, go through the feet and bend the knees into a plié to absorb the impact.
Return to the starting position or continue into the next sauté.
Common Compensations
Do not land stiff-legged.
Do not let your knees cave inward.
Do not lose alignment in the feet.
Do not make the jump so big that you lose control.
Do not skip the plié on landing.
Extra Info
You should feel your calves, feet/ankles, quads, and glutes working.
You should feel a smooth push off the floor and a controlled, cushioned landing.
You should not feel sharp pain in the feet, ankles, knees, hips, or back.
